Considered remodeling, cabinet-grade carpentry.

Oakhart is a design-build firm run by carpenters. We plan the scope, coordinate the trades, and finish the details ourselves — so the work looks built into the bones of the home and holds up for years.

The work

Design-build remodeling, led by carpenters.

We focus on a handful of things and do them carefully. Every project begins with a real scope of work — drawings, selections, field measurements, and permit requirements — not a vague allowance buried in a handshake.

Kitchens

Cabinet-led kitchens

Kitchens planned around how you actually cook — layout, rough-in, surfaces, lighting, and panel-ready appliances brought together with tight, lasting tolerances.

Baths

Tile & waterproofing

Bathrooms built on sound waterproofing and quiet detailing — shower systems, tile, ventilation, and custom vanities that hide daily storage without crowding the room.

Basements

Finished lower levels

Lower levels finished with moisture control first, then warmth — media walls, wet bars, guest suites, and concealed mechanical access that reads like the rest of the home.

Additions

Space tied in cleanly

New square footage joined to the existing structure — foundation, framing, roofline, and envelope handled with load-bearing review before a single number is quoted.

Whole-Home

Coordinated remodels

Phased renovations for occupied or vacant homes — floor-plan changes, cohesive finish packages, and disciplined trade sequencing from demolition to punch list.

Custom Carpentry

Millwork with restraint

Built-ins, paneling, libraries, mantels, and mudrooms scribed and installed to look original to the house — the finish work the whole firm was founded on.

Pretty finishes only last when the rough-in is right.

The difference between a remodel that ages well and one that needs corrections is usually invisible — it happens before the drywall closes. That discipline is where Oakhart spends its attention.

Verified before drywall

Blocking, plumbing centers, electrical locations, ventilation paths, floor flatness, and cabinet clearances are confirmed while the walls are still open.

Scheduled, not improvised

Permit and inspection milestones live in the build calendar, and long-lead selections are locked before ordering begins — so the timeline holds.

Closed room by room

Every space gets a punch-list walk before the final invoice, so small items are finished instead of quietly carrying over to the homeowner.

Budget planning

High-end work, priced with context.

The lower end of each range assumes limited layout changes and defined selections. The higher end usually includes structural work, premium materials, complex rough-in, or custom carpentry. Use these to plan before Oakhart writes a fixed scope.

What changes the number

Scope beats square footage.

Two rooms with the same footprint can price very differently. The final proposal depends on structural work, plumbing movement, electrical panel capacity, cabinet construction, tile complexity, finish level, and site access.

How we protect budget

Changes are written before work continues.

Oakhart separates allowance choices from fixed labor, documents change orders, and reviews open decisions weekly — so the budget is never discovered at the end of the job.
